ONLINE
DATING TIPS: STAYING ALIVE
One
of the greatest things about online dating is: YOU HAVE FULL CONTROL!
You make the rules. You make your choices. You make decisions. You remain
anonymous as long as you like.
People you
meet on the Internet are just like any other people you meet in your everyday
life. Some of them you like a lot, some of them you don't. Most of them
are honest, some aren't. Think about it and act accordingly!
For your
own safety, please follow this simple rules:
- Decide
what EXACTLY you expect from your ideal match. Set up your rules, than
stick to them closely.
- Be highly
selective. There's so many people online, don't waste your time on those
who don't match your criteria.
- Be completely
honest about who you are and what you want right from the beginning.
- Guard
your anonymity. Never include any personal or identifying information
in your profile or in your initial e-mails.
- Start
slow. It takes some time to get to know a person well.
- Be cautious.
The person at the other end may not be who or what he/she says.
- Ask questions.
Ask for more photos.
- Chat
via telephone. A phone call can reveal a lot about another person.
- Take all
the time you need to become comfortable with someone before you arrange
a meeting.
- Watch
for inappropriate or irrational behavior, disrespectful comments, anger,
aggression or attempts at pressuring or controlling you.
- Run away
from liars.
- Trust
your feelings. If you feel uncomfortable with someone, leave.

have resulted in casual dates or just online freindships. This was all
about to change in June when..."
